Prerequisites for the LEED Certification
We create site management policy customized for your building to reduce all wastes, which comes from energy, water, air and solid, in addition to chemical if needed. The site policy will identify the goals , strategies, roles and responsibilities and how to measure the performance and assure the Quality.
We study the indoor water baseline by scanning all the fixtures used to make sure they are water sense labeled or they meet the code requirement whatever it is uniform or international plumbing code. Accordingly, we request changed in any fixtures to meet the prerequisite.
Water meter for the potable water to be installed by the contractor under our supervision, and it should be able to record the readings to share it with the USGBC for 5 years.
We conduct energy audit as per ASHRAE preliminary energy use analysis and energy Level-1 walk through assessment, then we prepare facility requirements and operation& maintenance plan clearly identifying the schedules and set points for main equipments in the buildings related to HVAC and lighting.
Energy meters to be installed by the contractor for all energy resources under our supervision with ability to record the readings. We analysis the reading and make sure its matching with EPA rating of 75, or 25% less than similar building or historic reading of same building for 3 years, whichever is available.
We check if any refrigerant use CFC, If CFC used and difficult to get rid of this machine directly, we put phase-out plan scheduled for completion within 10 years.
We work closely with the logistics and procurement department to set environmentally preferable purchasing plan( EPP), and it should be applied for all ongoing purchased and the durable goods purchases.
We work with the maintenance team to set facility maintenance and renovation policy for products and materials purchased. We set plan of waste management for the facility ad renovation waste. We set policy for indoor air quality for maintenance and renovation
Outdoor air intake flow rate should be tested by certified contract under our supervision, and make sure it match with ASHRSE 62.1 or equivalent, or at least 10CFM
Make sure that the building prohibit smoking inside it, and at least 25 feet from all entries by putting signage within 10 feet of all building entries.
We work with maintenance and procurement department to put green cleaning plan for all cleaning products and materials in addition to equipment to reduce level of chemicals, biological and contaminants which are dangerous on human and on the environmental.
